February 23, 2018- The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) sponsored the 26th photo exhibit “EDSA 1986 BEFORE AND BEYOND-FVR LEGACY OF PHILIPPINES 2000” in commemoration of the 32ND Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution mounted at the exhibit area, Level 4, Cinema Lobby, Ayala Malls Trinoma in Quezon City.

The spirit of the historic 1986 EDSA People Power peaceful revolution that restored democracy in the Philippines was relived in a thousand- and-one photo exhibit by veteran photo-journalist Sonny Camarillo. at Trinoma in Quezon City on Feb. 22.

The photo exhibit is all about the “one shining moment” of the Filipino people when millions of them gathered at Edsa to force Former President Ferdinand Marcos to flee the country with his family. The photo exhibit showcased images from the last 32 years of the Philippine political history. Through the years, the PCSO had always been a partner in this noble endeavor of educating Filipinos especially the youth of today on the legacy of “EDSA”.

Former President Fidel V. Ramos, one of the key players at EDSA People Power on Feb. 22-25, 1986, was the guest of honor and speaker at the opening day of the exhibit. In his speech he urged the youth to value and be proud of the 1986 EDSA People Power, which showed the world a peaceful revolution. He said Filipinos should value the iconic EDSA People Power experience.

The other key players during that historic event at EDSA were also present, Rafael Alunan III who served as Secretary of Tourism and as Secretary of Interior and Local Governmentt in the government of President Cory Aquino and President Fidel Ramos successively. He also made mention that he is very grateful to PCSO for supporting his TV show in DZRH Manila “ Thinking out Loud with Raffy Alunan.”

Political operator Pastor “Boy Saycon” as members of the Edsa People Power Commision. He is also a part of the 5-member commission under the Office of the President, tasked with organizing the activities to commemorate the EDSA People Power Revolution which ousted Dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Images in pictures taken and preserved for posterity by Camarillo during that historic event will be displayed during the photo exhibit for the public, especially the young generation to see.

Camarillo said that this year’s 32nd anniversary will be called “EDSA 1986, Before & Beyond – FVR Legacy of Philippines 2000” is sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Ayala Land, Inc., the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Spirit of EDSA Foundation, EDSA People Power Commission, Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation, JRS Express, CWC International Corporation, YKL Digital Imaging/Wonder Photo Shop and CAMERAHAUS.
