PCSO donates medicines. On July 3, 2018, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), through the PCSO Medicine Donation Program, donated medicines to the Office of Participatory Governance (OPG) at the PCSO Extension Office at Lung Center of the Philippines, Quezon City.

The OPG under the Office of the Cabinet Secretary (OCS) is mandated to Strengthening the Office of the Cabinet Secretary, Enhancing its Powers and Functions, Providing for its Support Staff and for Other Purposes by virtue of Executive Order No. 9 series of 2016. It has been tasked to conduct the launching and/or promotion of the Biyaya ng Pagbabago Tungo sa Masagana at Matiwasay na Buhay Pilipino, otherwise known as Biyaya ng Pagbabago. It seeks to operationalize the mandate of the OCS in providing a push for the poverty alleviation thrust of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The launching of the program will have its regional roll out at Benguet State University in La Trinidad on July 7, 2018, wherein they will integrate the medical and dental mission in the activity which will showcase genuine intent of the government to reach out and uplift the quality of life especially of those who need medical attention. The medicines donated will be distributed during the event.

The PCSO Medicine Donation Program aims to augment the needed medicines of qualified government and non-government agencies to enable them to implement efficient and effective health care services. (By: Leila Valencia/ Arnold Ramos.)
